RARE album of paintings by YOSL BERGNER (b.1920) who was born in Vienna, grew up in Warsaw, lived and studied in Melbourne and immigrated in 1948 to Israel where he resides since. The writings of Franz Kafka have provided continual inspiration for Yosl Bergner throughout his life. Among his works are numerous paintings, drawings and etchings with motives or characters from Kafka`s works. The drawings in this album are from 1953, while the paintings are from various years. 305x250mm. 134 pages. Hardcover with gilt lettering on cover and spine laid in white soft slipcase. Slipcase slightly stained. Slipcase bottom edge and hinges worn. Spine bottom very slightly bumped.
