RARE complete facsimile of the Sarajevo Haggadah, a 14th-century illuminated manuscript which is considered by many to be the single most beautiful and elaborate manuscript of the Sephardic tradition, and one of the most prized articles of Jewish art in general. The volume is prefaced by a short Hebrew introduction to the Haggadah by Cecil Roth, the eminent British Jewish historian. 240x180mm. 39 text pages and 74 double facsimile pages [altogether 39+152 pages]. Gilt illustrated leather Hardcover with dust-jacket laid in slipcase. Slipcase slightly worn, rear side and spine wrinkled. Slipcase spine edges and upper edge worn. Dust jacket front bottom edge and spine upper edge slightly torn, corners and spine bottom edge worn. Rear cover slightly stained. Dedication written in pen on front whitepage. [SUMMARY]: This facsimile of the celebrated Sarajevo Haggadah is otherwise in very good condition.
