SIGNED BY YOSL BERGNER with a DEDICATION TO MOSHE SHAMIR (1921-2004), an eminent Israeli author, playwright and public figure (dated 1961). Yosl Bergner (b.1920) was born in Vienna, grew up in Warsaw, lived and studied in Melbourne and immigrated in 1948 to Israel where he resides since. The writings of Franz Kafka have provided continual inspiration for Yosl Bergner throughout his life. Among his works are numerous paintings, drawings and etchings with motives or characters from Kafka`s works. 330x255mm. 42 pages. Illustrated board Hardcover. Cover age-stained. Cover corners worn and peeling, cover edges slightly bumped and stained. Tape residues which left peeling marks on cover edges near spine. Spine edges missing. Spine hinges cracked and partly missing. Pages slightly yellowing. [SUMMARY]: This extremely rare book of illustrations to Kafka`s literary masterpieces by the renowned Israeli artist, signed and dedicated by him, is otherwise in good condition.
