RARE 17th-century illustrated book on heraldry by Samuel Kent who was one of the most renowned authorities in this field. Each page contains several (mostly five) coat of arms with captions. 180x120mm. XLIV+176 pages (unpaginated). Brown leather Hardcover with ribbed spine. Cover, cover edges and spine worn, rubbed and scratched. Front cover detached and stained. Rear cover detached. Cover corners and spine edges peeling. Spine bottom edge partly missing. Inner cover age-stained. Ink writing on front inner cover and whitepage. Several first pages creased/wrinkled. First two page edges worn. Some pages slightly dog-eared. Pages yellowing and wavy, few pages age-stained. [SUMMARY]: This extremely rare classic book on heraldry has sustained some damage (mostly to cover), but is still in good reading condition and priced accordingly.
