This two-volume collection of Paul Klee`s lectures at the Bauhaus schools in 1920s Germany and his other main essays on modern art are considered so important for understanding modern art that they are compared to the importance that Leonardo`s `A Treatise on Painting` had for Renaissance. This volume contains `Towards a theory of pictorial form` and `Contributions to a theory of pictorial form - Lecture notes from the Bauhaus at Weimar and at Dessau`. 225x115mm. 541 pages. Black board Hardcover with yellow cloth spine. Black lettering on spine. Cover and spine worn, rubbed/scratched and stained. Cover corners peeling. Cover edges worn. Spine edges bumped. Inner cover slightly dirty. Binding slightly visible and glued between pre-title page and page 12-13. Pages between pre-title page and page 12-13 wavy/creased near binding. Edges/corners of first several pages slightly worn. Some page corner/s slightly bent/wrinkled. Pages slightly yellowing.
