EXTREMELY RARE! "Yerushalayim Ha-Benuyah" ("The Rebuilt Jerusalem: a Daydream") is a Utopian HEBREW novel written by the Russian-Jewish artist and founder of the "Bezalel" (or "Betzalel") school of art, Boris Schatz. The novel, which was printed in a single edition and distributed in close circulation, depicts the author`s visit to Jerusalem in the year 2018, where he discovers a Jewish city built upon the precepts of Zionism, Judaism and Socialism. The title page marks this book as volume I; no other volumes were ever printed. The book features an illustrated title page. 250x180mm. 194 pages. Original grey illustrated Hardcover. Cover and spine slightly stained and yellowing. Cover rubbed. Rear cover edge near bottom corner severely bumped. Cover corners and spine edges bumped and peeling. Spine wrinkled and partly tattered. Ex-library copy with stamps on non-illustrated title-page and last page. Edges of pages 185-194 wrinkled. Binding slightly loose and visible on inner cover. Two first pages upper edge coming loose from binding. Title page upper edge and corner missing (cut-out). Pages yellowing. [SUMMARY]: This extremely rare book is in good reading condition.
