RARE first printing of the second edition of an unfinished English history by the great English poet John Milton (1608-1674), first published in 1670. 180x115mm. 357+58 pages. Brown leather Hardcover. Text block edges marbled. Cover rubbed, slightly scratched and slightly creased. Cover corners and spine edges peeling. Spine worn and partly peeling. Spine hinges cracked. Rear cover almost loose from binding. Ex-libris sticker and small ink marks on front inner cover. Inner cover and whitepages age-stained/browning. Small ink mark on rear whitepage. Ink writing on title page. Pages yellowing and wavy. [SUMMARY]: This extremely rare second edition of Milton`s historical work has suffered some damage to cover, but is otherwise in good condition.
