RARE book by the celebrated German classical scholar and bibliographer Johann Albert Fabricius (1668-1736), who is credited with 128 books. He was an eminent bibliographer and collector of manuscripts, and many of his volumes are compilations, editions, or anthologies. This book is a testimony to Fabricius` influence in articulating current scholarly notions of the "Old Testament Pseudepigrapha" and "New Testament Apocrypha", through his many comprehensive collections of texts and excerpts. Contains the author`s portrait as frontispiece. 180x125mm. 1174 pages [with additional unpaginated XXX+28 pages]. Half-cloth rebound Hardcover. Cover and spine rubbed and scratched. Cover edges rubbed/worn. Front cover and spine stained. Front cover bottom corner bumped and worn. Cover corners rubbed. Spine edges bumped. Title and author`s name handwritten on spine. Front inner cover upper right corner peeling. Pencil inscriptions on front whitepage. Ex-libris sticker on frontispiece verso with the previous owners name - James G. Heller (1892-1971) - an American composer and rabbi. Binding slightly visible between frontispiece and title page (otherwise binding tight). Text block edges dyed black. Whitepages stained. Pages 618-623 and few other page edges slightly stained (burn marks?) - NO damage to text. Pages wavy and browning/age-stained. [SUMMARY]: This extremely rare book is in good reading condition and in good condition for its age.
