Contains numerous color prints with Karhu`s personal comments on the designs and his unusual life as a woodblock artist in Japan, 38 b&w text illustrations and several maps, as well as introductory essays for the five topical sections of woodblock prints by Alex Kerr, who also translated and adapted Karhu`s text and commentaries, derived from taped interviews in Japanese.
