RARE FIRST EDITION. Cheskel Zwi Kloetzel (1891-1951) was an eminent German Jewish journalist and writer. Before emigrating to Palestine in 1933 Kloetzel was editor of the journal of the Zionist Federation in Germany `Jüdische Rundschau`, wrote for `Vossische Zeitung` and `Berliner Tageblatt`, and recorded experiences from his travels and various missions on behalf of Zionist organizations in Palestine, Thessaloniki, Eastern Europe, Turkey, Persia, Afghanistan, the United States, South Africa, the Sudan, Kenya, Uganda, India and the Near East. In Palestine Kloetzel was an editorial board member of the `Palestine Post` from October 1939 until his death in 1951 in Jerusalem. The book is printed in Gothic script. The illustrator - Hans Baluschek (1870-1935) was a German painter, graphic artist and writer, a prominent representative of German Critical Realism. 245x185mm. 88 pages.
