RARE first history of Bene Israel - the Jewish community of India by Haeem Samuel Kehimkar, an educator who founded in 1875 a Marathi and Hebrew elementary school named the Israelite School. The manuscript of this work was completed in 1897, but the author was unable to secure the funds to publish it, and it was finally published fifty years later in Jerusalem by the late Dr. Immanuel Olsvanger. 245x170mm.
