SIGNED BY AUTHOR - Bernard M. Zlotowitz (1925-2015), a renowned leader in the American Jewish Reform movement who taught on the faculties of the University of North Carolina, HUC-JIR, and retired as Professor of Bible at the Academy for Jewish Religion. He earned his doctorate at HUC-JIR under the direction of Harry Orlinsky (1908-1992), who contributed an introductory essay to his student`s dissertation which was published as `The Septuagint Translation of the Hebrew Terms in Relation to God in the Book of Jeremiah` (KTAV, 1981). In addition to several popular works, Zlotowitz was also co-author/translator (with Martin Rozenberg) of the Book of Psalms: A New Translation and Commentary (Aronson, 1999). Contains a selected bibliography, and indices of biblical passages and greek words. 235x155mm. XXVI+196 pages. Maroon cloth Hardcover with gilt lettering on front cover and spine. Spine yellowing, rubbed and stained. Author`s signed dedication dated 9/2/1981 on front whitepage. Pages slightly yellowing. Else in good condition.
