Spine yellowing, stained, worn, glued and glue-stained. Spine edges and hinges bumped. Spine edges tattered. Pages slightly yellowing and rough-cut. [VOL.I]: Preface pages vii-xviii partly detached from binding. Frontispiece missing. [VOL.II]: Spine bottom edge partly missing. Binding slightly loose and visible between pages 128-129. [SUMMARY]: This extremely rare book on a unique Middle-eastern esoteric monotheistic religious community, written by an eminent British diplomat who resided among the Druzes while being the British consul in Ottoman Syria, is overall in good reading condition.
