RARE monograph IN HEBREW on Thessaloniki Jewish gravestone epitaphs that contains 1640 annotated and cross-referenced Hebrew tombstone inscriptions and 465 non-annotated inscriptions. The inscriptions are dated as early as 1502CE. The book is accompanied by a register of names. 245x175mm. 682 pages. Red cloth Hardcover with gilt front cover and spine. Cover slightly stained. Cover corners slightly bumped. Spine rubbed, dirty/stained and wrinkled/worn. Spine hinges cracked, glue-stained and glued. Spine edges bumped and tattered. Text block edges dirty/slightly stained. Two front whitepages upper corner slightly chipped. Pages yellowing. [SUMMARY]: This extremely rare and valuable compendium of grave inscriptions in the Jewish cemetery of Thessaloniki, of interest to any serious student of Sephardi Jews of the Ottoman era, is in good condition.
