Description
RARE BILINGUAL HEBREW-ENGLISH edition of a classic Jewish treatise "Da`at Tevunot" ("The Knowing Heart" or "Knowing the Reasons") by the prominent Italian Jewish rabbi, kabbalist, and philosopher Moshe Chaim Luzzatto (1707-1746), also known by the Hebrew acronym RaMCHaL (or RaMHaL). The work explains the duality of positive and negative that exists on all levels of reality, that this is the basis of God`s "showing his face/hiding his face" to and from humanity, and the dual existence of good and evil. The Hebrew text, based on three early manuscripts, was originally prepared (without vowel marks) by Rabbi Chaim Friedlander. The translator - Rabbi Shraga Silverstein was an eminent American-Israeli Rabbi, author, and translator of many classic Jewish works. 215x145mm. 357 pages. Hardcover. Cover rubbed. Front cover stained. Cover corners slightly bumped and peeling. Front whitepage slightly stained. Front inner cover bottom corner/edge water-stained. Pen inscriptions on whitepages and rear endpaper. [SUMMARY]: This extremely rare edition of an important Jewish theological work by one of the last giants of Jewish thought is otherwise in good condition.
