Along with other political poets of the early Modernist period, Ridge has received renewed critical attention since the beginning of the 21st century and is praised for making poetry directly from harsh urban life. The poems in this volume first appeared in magazines: the larger part of the poem entitled "The Ghetto" appeared originally in The New Republic and some of the poems were printed in The International, Others, Poetry, etc. 195x135mm. 101 pages. Brown board rebound Hardcover with original cover and new cloth spine. Gilt lettering on front cover. Cover rubbed and slightly stained. Cover corners and edges bumped and peeling. Stain on text block fore edge. Pages rough-cut as published and yellowing. [SUMMARY]: This extremely rare first edition of poems by an eminent early 20th-century poetess is in good condition.
