RARE comprehensive album of 216 b&w photographs of Pablo Picasso`s sculptures, taken by the eminent Hungarian–French photographer, sculptor, writer, and filmmaker - Brassaï (pseudonym of Gyula Halász) (1899-1984), who rose to international fame in France in the 20th century. The introduction was written by Daniel-Henry Kahnweiler (1884-1979) - a German-born art historian, art collector, and one of the premier French art dealers of the 20th century who became prominent as an art gallery owner in Paris beginning in 1907 and was among the first champions of Pablo Picasso, Georges Braque and Cubism. Photograph of Picasso`s hand adorns the front cover, b&w portrait of the artist appears on first introduction page. 320x250mm. Unpaginated. Illustrated board Hardcover with black cloth spine. Cover rubbed/slightly scratched. Cover and spine yellowing/faded and slightly stained. Cover corners/edges and spine edges bumped.
