RARE LIMITED EDITION OF TWO VOLUME CATALOG of the collection of the first President of the Republic of Indonesia, Ir. Sukarno (1901-1970) who was the first President of Indonesia, serving in office from 1945 to 1967 and the leader of his country`s struggle for Independence from the Netherlands. Compiled by the renowned Indonesian painter known for his landscapes and portraits - Dullah (1919-1996), who was the Presidential Palace painter in the 1950s and curator of the state painting collections who selected 206 paintings from Soekarno`s private collections, and with the help of Chinese experts photographed and then reproduced them in the "deluxe" two volume oversize monograph in a very limited edition printed in the People`s Republic of China in 1956. The text by Soekarno and Dullah is in four languages: Indonesian, Chinese, English and Russian. Due to the limited edition (only 6000 copies) the two `de luxe` volumes were distributed only to selected individuals and art collectors, and the supply was soon exhausted.
