FIRST EDITION. RARE publication of the laws of the Great Synagogue of London, for centuries the central Ashkenazi synagogue in London, destroyed during World War II, in the Blitz. 220x140mm. XX+72 pages. Dark-red cloth gilt Hardcover. Cover and spine stained and rubbed. Cover corners bumped and worn. Cover edges slightly bumped. Spine worn. Spine edges peeling/tattered. Spine front hinge cracked and tattered/peeling. Front whitepage slightly stained. Previous owner`s name stamped on front whitepage (twice), rear whitepage, and pages III, XX and 1. Binding loose - pages almost detached. Pages yellowing and slightly age-stained. [SUMMARY]: This extremely rare book on one of the most important Jewish sites in England has sustained some damage, but is overall in good reading condition.
