EXTREMELY RARE Hebrew historical epic, written in the tradition of the medieval European epics by Yakov Binyamin Katzenelson, father of the renowned poet Itzhak Katzenelson and an accomplished poet in his own right. The poem depicts Judas Maccabeus and his struggle against the Hellenic regime in Palestine during the 2nd century BCE, celebrating Jewish nationalism and Jewish self-defense. 215x150mm. 192 pages. Green quarter-cloth hardcover. Cover stained and slightly worn. Cover edges and corners bumped and peeling. Library stamp on title page verso. Title page and pages 19, 21 and 25 edge/s slightly torn - NO damage to text. Page 23 bottom edge wrinkled. Pages browning. [SUMMARY]: This extremely rare book is in otherwise good condition.
