Description
EXTREMELY RARE Passover Haggadah from the year 1938, printed in the city of Grosswardein (now Ordea-Mare) in Transylvania, presumably for the poor of the Jewish community. The Haggadah includes Hebrew prayer texts with Yiddish instructions, and the Yiddish tales of R. Jacob Kranz, the Dubner Maggid. Title page features a b&w woodcut of a Jewish family around the Sedder table, made in the style of the local folk art. 195x135mm. 17 pages. Softcover. Pencil inscription on title page. Humidity stains on rear whitepage. Pages unbound. Pages browning. Page edges slightly tattered/torn - no damage to text. [SUMMARY]: Despite the aforementioned wear, this unique Transylvanian Haggadah is in fine reading condition.
