EXTREMELY RARE critical edition of `Etz Hayyim` by Aaron ben Elijah (the Latter, of Nicomedia 1328/29-1369), often considered to be the most prominent Karaite theologian, with summary of the 114 chapters in Hebrew by Caleb Afendopulo, valuable information, notes, index etc. and introduction in German by the editors. 225x135mm. LXXX+388 pages. Marbled rebound Hardcover with gilt lettering on spine. Cover and spine worn, rubbed, stained and peeling. Cover corners bumped and peeling. Spine and edges and hinges slightly peeling. Sticker on spine bottom edge. Ex-library copy with stamp (Bet-Ha-Midrasch Wien) on page 383. Title page missing. Pages 383-388 detached from binding. Binding loose and visible between some pages. Pages outer edge stained. Pages wavy, yellowing and age-stained. [SUMMARY]: This extremely rare unique critical edition of the most influential Karaite theologico-philosophical treatise has suffered some damage to cover and binding, but the inside of the book is preserved very well; accordingly this extremely rare book is still in good reading condition.
