Description
Splendidly illustrated book covering the history of Chile from colonization to the mid 19th century. The book contains 2 full plate portraits of distinguished Chilean historical figures (Valdivieso and Cochrane). Also contains numerous engravings inside the text. 210x290mm, IX+495pp. Hard cover. Original half-leather cover with gilt lettering and illustration, quite faded. Corners bumped, edges worn. Spine gilted, worn, slightly loose, edges worn. Front & back inner cover taped, still slightly loose. Binding somewhat loose. Ex Libris Itiel Pann. White page removed (book starts with title page). Stamp (faded) on title page. Pages slightly yellowing, some age-stains. Some pages slightly torn on edges or binding. Gilt page edges. This book, a unique and lovingly-made recounting of Chilean history, has seen some damage over the years and is in overall fair condition. It is still quite readable but somewhat fragile. We offer it at a considerable discount.
