Description
This extremely rare catalog of Ternbach`s collection exhibited in the Israel Museum demonstrates the many facets of this unique restorator, goldsmith, silversmith, sculptor and collector. Joseph Ternbach, a native of Vienna, was for many years a restorer at the Kunsthistorische Museum in that city. He left Austria when the Nazis took over in 1938 and the following year he came to New York. Since his arrival in the United States, Mr. Ternbach maintained a freelance restoration business and founded the Godwin-Ternbach Museum in 1981 with the art historian Frances Godwin. 270X240mm. 249 pages. Softcover. Cover bottom corner slightly bumped. All pages clean. This rare catalog is in very good condition.
