RARE comprehensive collection of studies on Jews and the French Revolutions of 1789, 1830 and 1848 by Zosa Szajkowski (born Yehoshua or Shayke Frydman, 1911-1978), a Polish-born Jewish French-American historian, renowned for his studies in Jewish Historiography, the transfer of Jewish archives to the United States, and for thefts of documents (for which he was charged). This volume comprises 43 studies divided into three parts: I.Franco-Jewish Dempography (6 studies); II.On the Eve of the Revolution of 1789 (6 studies); III.The Revolution of 1789 (21 studies); IV.The First Empire (2 studies); V.The Revolutions of 1830, and the Second Empire (8 studies). Almost all studies are in English, except 2 in Italian and 1 in French. 235x160mm. LV+1161 pages. Red cloth Hardcover. Gilt lettering on front cover and spine. Front inner cover and several first page edges sightly age-stained. Text block edges age-stained. Cover corners and spine edges slightly rubbed.
