RARE monograph on ancient Persian inscriptions of the Achaemenid monuments and inscriptions of Fars with transcription into Roman alphabet and French translation by Ralph Norman Sharp, formerly Assistant Professor of Old Persian and Pahlavi at Shiraz University. Contains many color and b&w plates. Contains 2 color and 12 b&w full-page plates printed on one side of the page only (with blank verso). 280x225mm. 183 pages & 14 plates (28 pages). Hardcover with gilt lettering on front cover and spine. Cover and spine somewhat dirty and rubbed. Cover corners and spine edges bumped. Previous owner`s name written in pen on front whitepage. Glue stains between front whitepage and preface page - no damage to text. Binding slightly loose and visible between several pages. Text block edges yellowing. [SUMMARY]: This extremely rare book is otherwise in good condition.
