SIGNED BY AUTHOR WITH DEDICATION dated 1922. RARE illustrated German Jewish children`s book by Cheskel Zwi Kloetzel (1891-1951), an eminent German Jewish journalist and writer. Before emigrating to Palestine in 1933 Kloetzel was editor of the journal of the Zionist Federation in Germany `Jüdische Rundschau`, wrote for `Vossische Zeitung` and `Berliner Tageblatt`, and recorded experiences from his travels and various missions on behalf of Zionist organizations in Palestine, Thessaloniki, Eastern Europe, Turkey, Persia, Afghanistan, the United States, South Africa, the Sudan, Kenya, Uganda, India and the Near East. In Palestine Kloetzel was an editorial board member of the `Palestine Post` from October 1939 until his death in 1951 in Jerusalem. The book is printed in Gothic script. 245x190mm. 77 pages. Illustrated board Hardcover with white cloth spine. Cover stained and browning/age-stained. Cover corners and edges bumped and worn/peeling. Half of spine missing. Spine edges and hinges tattered/partly torn. Author`s signature and dedication on first whitepage. Front whitepages detached from binding and have tattered/chipped edges - no damage to text. Title page upper corner/edge near binding torn - no damage to text. Age-stain on page 47 fore edge. Binding somewhat loose and visible on inner cover and between several pages. Several pages bottom corner wrinkled. Pages browning.
