Malachi Beit-Arie (b.1937) is Ludwig Jesselson Professor Emeritus of Codicology and Paleography at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. This is COPY No.370 of a comprehensive illustrated monograph on Jewish Italian marriage contracts from the 17th to 19th centuries (with one example of a modernist style 20th-century kettubah) exhibited at the Ambrosiana Library in Milan in 1981. Contains 60 color full-page illustrations of the kettubot and 13 color and b&w illustrations accompanying the proceedings of the international conference held at the Biblioteca Ambrosiana in Milan on November 8, 1981.
