Volume III contains an engraved portrait of Mirabeau as frontispiece. [ALL VOLUMES]: 205x125mm. [428] + [414] + [552] + [418] pages. Quarter-leather embossed Hardcover with gilt spine. Leather spine and corners. Page edges dyed yellow. Cover and spine rubbed. Cover corners slightly bumped and peeling. Cover edges worn. Pages yellowing, wavy and slightly age-stained. Inner cover and several extreme pages age-stained. [VOL.I]: Front cover edge near spine and rear cover edge near bottom corner partly worn. Spine edges peeled. Spine front hinge edges cracked (but still intact). [VOL.II]: Spine edges peeled (half missing). Front cover coming loose from binding and slightly worn near spine [VOL.III]: Spine missing. Cover and pages 545-552 coming loose from binding (but still intact). [VOL.IV]: Spine upper edge missing and peeling. Inner cover slightly loose. [SUMMARY]: This extremely rare first edition of 4 volume memoirs, a true treasure for anyone taking an interest in the key events of the French Revolution, has unfortunately sustained some external damage to cover, but is internally in good reading condition.
