RARE album of photographs from the Lodz Ghetto by Henryk Ross, who worked as official photographer for the statistics department of the Ghetto Administration, and managed to take "unofficial" snapshots of the real life of the Ghetto, including an execution and the scene of deportation at the Radogoszcz station. 315x225mm. 84 pages. Oblong black cloth Hardcover. Silver lettering on front cover. Cover slightly stained and worn. Cover corners and spine edges bumped. Cover corners peeling. Spine edges tattered. Binding slightly loose and visible on front inner cover. Tape residues on inner cover and whitepages. Ex-library copy with stamps on front whitepage, title page and page 5. Library sticker on front whitepage and rear inner cover. Pen writing on whitepages. Front whitepage worn and slightly tattered. 2 last pages and page 63/64 bottom edge slightly tattered - no damage to plates. Some pages slightly dirty - no damage to plates. Pages 49-52 bottom edge slightly torn - slight damage to plates on page 50/51 bottom edge. Pages slightly yellowing and wavy. [SUMMARY]: This extremely rare photographic evidence of Nazi atrocities, some of them used in the Eichmann trial, is otherwise in good condition.
