The aim of this seminal Jewish work is the perfection of character. 220x155mm. 231 pages [+6]. Black embossed Hardcover with gilt lettering on front cover. Text block edges marbled. Cover fore edge slightly bumped. Cover corners and spine edges bumped and peeling/tattered. Spine faded and rubbed. Binding slightly visible on inner cover. Inner cover, whitepages, title page, several first pages and few pages slightly age-stained. Title page verso and page 1 slightly worn with damage to several letters of the text, but the previous owner wrote the missing letters in pen instead of the rubbed ones. Pages yellowing. [SUMMARY]: This extremely rare edition of an important ethical treatise in Judaism, a classic in Musar literature, is in good condition.
