תיאור הספר
RARE Hebrew-language guidebook for teachers, written by Moshe Aharon Beigel (later Avigal), educator of the third Aliyah who pushed forwards the ideas of physical education and education through physical activities. In this book, written prior to his immigration to Israel, he offers schoolteachers advice on the use of papercutting - a popular form of Jewish folk-art - as class activity. This activity is supposed to provide the children with enhanced motor abilities, as well as knowledge in geometry, geography and religion. The first half of the book discusses the methods and purposes of papercutting, and the second half features 40 color plates illustrating pictures that can be created in that methods, such as landscapes, work tools, animal profiles and Jewish symbols, including explanations on the proper methods of creating such pictures. 240x170mm. 24 pages & 40 full-page plates printed on separate pages. Illustrated board Hardcover. Cover yellowing and stained. Cover corners and edges worn and peeling. Spine mostly missing and taped. Adhesive tape between front inner cover and front whitepages. Binding visible between rear inner cover and whitepage. Text block edges age-stained. Some pages slightly age-stained. Pages yellowing. [SUMMARY]: This extremely rare testimony to the new methods of education put forward by the members of the third aliyah is otherwise in good condition.
