RARE FIRST EDITION of a prose work by Else Lasker-Schüler (1869-1945), a Jewish German poet and playwright famous for her bohemian lifestyle in Berlin, one of the few women affiliated with the Expressionist movement, who fled Nazi Germany and from 1934 until her death lived in Palestine (from 1937 in Jerusalem). Contains b&w drawings by Lasker-Schüler. 230x155mm. 168 pages. Hardcover with black lettering on front cover and spine. Small pen mark on title page upper corner (no damage to text). Cover and spine stained. Inner cover, text block edges and pages yellowing. Front cover corners and spine edges bumped/worn. Spine hinge edges slightly tattered. Ex-library copy with stamp on pages 9, 87, 95, 126 and 168. [SUMMARY]: This extremely rare first edition of Lasker-Schüler`s account of her first trip to Palestine is otherwise in good condition.
