RARE LIMITED FIRST EDITION OF 330 COPIES. COPY No.146 of a rare limited first edition of poems by the Jewish-German poet and playwright Else Lasker-Schüler (1869-1945), famous for her bohemian lifestyle in Berlin and one of the few women affiliated with the Expressionist movement. Lasker-Schüler fled Nazi Germany and lived out the rest of her life in Jerusalem. The book, originally published in Israel 1943 two years before the author`s death, contains new poems written after two decades of silence. 220x147mm. 45 pages. Blue illustrated Hardcover. Cover rubbed, yellowing and slightly stained. Cover corners and upper edge bumped and peeling. Sticker residues on cover upper corner near spine. Spine taped. Sticker residues on spine upper edge and hinges. Small sticker on front endpaper bottom corner. Inner cover age-stained. Binding slightly loose and visible between pages 16-17 and 32-33. Pages browning. [SUMMARY]: This extremely rare first edition of Lasker-Schüler`s timeless poems is otherwise in good condition.
