SIGNED BY COMPOSER with DEDICATION dated March 1996 to the renowned Israeli conductor Uri Segal (b.1944), who, among his other posts, founded in 1990 the Century Orchestra in Osaka, Japan, and was its chief conductor through 1998, subsequently becoming the its Laureate Conductor. RARE orchestral score of Symphony No.5, titled "Simplex", composed in 1990 by the eminent Japanese composer of contemporary classical music Shin-ichiro Ikebe (b.1943), also renowned for the scores for many films by Akira Kurosawa and other Japanese film directors (Kurosawa`s `Kagemusha`, `Dreams`, `Rhapsody in August`, `Madadayo`; Masahiro Shinoda`s `MacArthur`s Children`, Shohei Imamura`s `Warm Water Under a Red Bridge`). The symphony was commissioned by the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra, and premiered on 8th September 1990 by Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Kazushi Ohno, at Tokyo Metropolitan Hall. 365x255mm. 74 pages.
