The collection of poems (diwan) was written mostly in Hebrew and included also poems by other authors, as well as 35 poems that represented a poetic debate between Todros Abulafia and the poet Phinehas Halevi. Each volume contains two parts (the third volume contains four parts because it also contains a two-part appendix): first part contains the poems and the second part contains commentary and notes by the editor - David Yellin (1864-1941), Professor of Hebrew Poetry in the Spanish Period at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
