RARE FIRST EDITION (Erstausgabe) of the prose version of a play by the Jewish-German poet and playwright Else Lasker-Schüler (1869-1945), famous for her bohemian lifestyle in Berlin and one of the few women affiliated with the Expressionist movement. Lasker-Schüler fled Nazi Germany and lived out the rest of her life in Jerusalem. Cover illustrated by Else Lasker-Schüler (Umschlagzeichnung von Else Lasker-Schüler). 185x115mm. 72 pages. Illustrated semi-rigid cover with illustrated dust-jacket. Jacket yellowing, slightly stained and partly torn. Jacket front bottom edge partly missing. Cover yellowing. Cover corners and edges bumped/wrinkled. Rear cover and spine slightly wrinkled. Spine edges peeling. Sticker residues on front inner cover. Small ink inscription on front whitepage upper edge. Pages slightly yellowing. [SUMMARY]: This extremely rare first edition of a prose work by the great Jewish German poetess is otherwise in good condition.
