Along with Diego Rivera and José Clemente Orozco, he established `Mexican Muralism`. The catalog was published on the occasion of the exhibition held in the Museo Nacional de Arte, Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes, Mexico City in 28.11.1996-16.2.1997, exploring an extremely fruitful decade of Siqueiros` work, which he partly spent in exile in the United States and which ended in his participation in an unsuccessful attempt to assassinate Leon Trotsky in May 1940.
