It was the first time the King had left Saudi Arabia. William Alfred "Bill" Eddy, Ph.D., Col., USMC (1896-1962) was a U.S. minister to Saudi Arabia from 1943 to 1945, university professor and college president, U.S. Marine Corps officer, serving in both World Wars, and U.S. intelligence officer.
