Saul Raskin (1878-1966) was an eminent Russian born American artist, writer, lecturer and teacher, best known for his depiction of Jewish subjects, and illustrations of Jewish classic Jewish religious books: Ethics of the Fathers, Passover Haggadah and the five scrolls. This album contains an extensive selection of Raskin`s drawings on various themes in Kaballah, the mystical religious interpretation of Judaism. This album contains an original Hebrew version with English and Yiddish translations of one of the earliest documents in the long history of Jewish mysticism - The Book of Creation (Sefer Yetzirah). The front whitepage where Raskin has signed also contains an additional signed undated dedication in Yiddish, but not by Raskin. 355x270mm. 80 pages.
