Description
SIGNED BY ABRAHAM SUTZKEVER WITH DEDICATION IN YIDDISH dated 1962. Avrom Sutskever (1913-2010), one of the greatest 20th-century Yiddish poets, spent five years in Siberia as a child and began publishing pieces of "Siberia" already in 1936, when he was just twenty-three years old. This beautiful large-format edition of the enchanting poem in an excellent English translation contains drawings and a letter on the poem by one of the pioneers of modernism in art Marc Chagall (1887-1985). 330x245mm. 46 pages [+2]. Blue cloth Hardcover. Cover corners and spine edges bumped. Spine yellowing/faded. Pages bottom corner slightly wrinkled. [SUMMARY]: This rare edition of an exquisite Yiddish poem, a fruit of collaboration between a major 20th-century Jewish poet and a great artist, is overall in good condition.
