RARE Arabic grammar, written by the well-known Latin theologian and orientalist Thomas Erpenius [van Erpe] (1584-1624). Includes a b&w print on title page. 210x155mm. 172+282 pages. Brown leather Hardcover with gilt lettering and decoration on ribbed spine. Top page edges dyed dark brown. Front cover detached. Cover stained and worn. Front cover curved/bent. Cover corners and spine edges worn. Spine broken and worn. Text block edges stained. Both endpapers (once marbled) worn and peeling. Ex-libris sticker on front endpaper upper corner. Ink inscription by previous owner on front whitepage. Light ink marks on title page. Front whitepage edges and bottom corner tattered. Several page edges slightly worn. Light ink marks near or under text on several pages. Binding almost broken (between pages 26 and 27 of Fabulae Locmani Sapientis). Page 23 edge slightly tattered - no damage to text. Rear whitepage left bottom corner/edge partly missing. Pencil marks on rear whitepage. Pages wavy and yellowing. [SUMMARY]: This extremely rare book has suffered considerable damage but is still in good reading condition.
