Contains numerous color prints with Karhu`s personal comments on the designs and his unusual life as a woodblock artist in Japan, 38 b&w text illustrations and several maps, as well as introductory essays for the five topical sections of woodblock prints by Alex Kerr, who also translated and adapted Karhu`s text and commentaries, derived from taped interviews in Japanese. This book was originally published in Japanese in 1979. 305x305mm. 192 pages. Yellow cloth Hardcover with illustrated dust-jacket. Gilt front cover and spine. Jacket rubbed.
