RARE scholarly edition of `Sefer Milhamot Ha-Shem` (`The Book of the Wars of the Lord`), a 10th century polemic poem in Hebrew, written by a Karaite exegete and controversialist who flourished at Jerusalem between 940 and 960 Salmon ben Yeruhim against the Rabbinical teachings of Saadia Gaon. The book features an English preface by the editor, as well notes and commentary in Hebrew. 280x220mm. XIV+132 pages. Black cloth Hardcover with gilt lettering on front cover and spine. Cover rubbed and slightly stained. Cover corners and edges bumped and peeling. Spine gilt faded. Spine upper cloth layer mostly missing. Spine hinges peeling. [SUMMARY]: Save for some external wear, this rare edition of an important Karaite text is in good condition.
