RARE edition of the Book of Esther, richly illustrated by the early "Betzalel" artist Ze`ev Raban in his typical Orientalist style. The book features 11 full-color mounted plates of the illustrated Book of Esther in Hebrew, with a parallel English translation. 255x225mm. Unpaginated. Red imitation leather Hardcover with gilt emblem on front. Cover slightly worn and bent/curved. Sticker residues on endpapers. Stamp and pen/pencil inscriptions on whitepage upper corner. Binding loose and visible between several pages. First chapter (four pages) detached from binding, transparent tape on plate corners - NO damage to plate. Two pages upper corner slightly bumped. [SUMMARY]: Save for some light external wear, this extremely rare edition of The Book of Esther, beautifully illustrated by a prominent early Israeli artist, is in good condition.
