Our country is once again under lockdown. We`ve been forced to send most of our staff home, though we continue to sell on-line for the time being.
Unfortunately, due to the staff shortage here and at the post office, orders from our website may be delayed by a few days. We may even struggle to answer your queries in a timely fashion.

Dear customers,
As our planet becomes more and more globalized, postal services around the world are gradually shifting away from Surface Mail (mail sent by trains and ships) in favor of Air Mail and other faster delivery methods. Over the past year, we have noticed a steady decline in the speed and quality of Surface Mail shipping from our country to most locations.
After much deliberation, we have decided to remove the option to select Surface Mail as the preferred shipping method for our books. While cheap, the excessive waiting period has frustrated our customers to no end, and we`re hoping to eliminate that frustration by removing the option altogether.

Dear Customers,
Unfortunately, after only one year`s trial, we have decided to cancel the option to submit payments by PayPal. The usage of PayPal has been complicated, expensive, and time-wasting for both ourselves and our customers. Therefore, as of today, the PayPal payment option has been removed from our website`s checkout page, and will not be reinstated in the foreseeable future.
We hope that your shopping experience on our website will not be negatively affected by this change. Our Credit Card payment system is highly-secured per the PCI DSS standard, and will continue functioning as it always has.

Dear customers, our website now allows you to choose to pay using your PayPal account. We hope that this method will be comfortable for those of you who prefer not to use Credit Cards on-line.

In May 2016, we have begun a project to upload photographs for a larger percentage of the books featured on this website. Most if not all of the new books added to our catalogue will now have an image of the front cover and/or title-page. We hope that this will give you, our customers, a better idea of the condition of the books as you browse through them, and simultaneously make our website a little nicer to look at.
Please remember: If you are interested in seeing photographs for a book that currently does not have any featured, you can always ask us! We will gladly upload new images on demand.

Here in Israel, we will soon be entering our "high holiday" season, celebrating the new year. The High Holidays will last approximately one month, between September 13 and October 4.
During this period, our store and sales department will both be closed intermittently. This means that any inquiries you send or orders you make may take a few days longer to be processed - but they will be processed as quickly as we can get to them.

On Thursday, August 20, our web-server will be undergoing maintenance and refit. As a result, the Book Gallery on-line catalogue (this website) will not be accessible during the night between Thursday and Friday. The site may or may not continue to behave abnormally over the weekend.

On Wednesday (24 Sept.), we will be celebrating the Hebrew new year, as well as the start of the holiday season which will last until the end of Sukkot (19 Oct.).
During the holidays, shipments from the book gallery, as well as responses to inquiries, may suffer from slight delays. If you call during business hours and we`re not there, it`s likely because a holiday is taking place. We apologize in advance to all our customers for the disruption.

Recently we`ve been busy upgrading our on-line ordering system, to meet the new "PCI DSS" credit card security standard. This standard is meant to ensure that your valuable credit card details are stored on dedicated, heavily-secured and encoded servers, out of the reach of any potential wrongdoers.
From now on, while making any order using a credit card on our website, you will be asked to feed your card details for authentication by the secured-storage service we`ve hired for this task. This way any problems with the card or any mistakes in the details will be spotted before your order is made, saving a lot of time and frustration.
Of course, no complex system is flawless on the first attempt; If you happen across any errors during the ordering process, or have suggestions on how to improve the ordering experience on our site, we`d be happy to hear your comments.

A mobile-friendly version of the Book Gallery website has been inaugurated. Mobile users should be automatically redirected to this website.
The Mobile Website currently only allows searching our catalogue, viewing book details and photographs, and submitting questions about our books. In the future it may even allow direct purchase of books.
If you are using a mobile device, you can switch between our mobile and desktop websites with the help of a link found at the bottom of each page.
If you encounter any problems, please let us know, and we will do our best to fix it as quickly as possible.

Today we have completed the relocation of our web-server to a new connection. We hope that this relocation will not adversely affect the smooth operation of our on-line catalogue.

We have recently begun cataloguing some of our vynil record albums, which were previously only sold directly at our store. Special and rare albums will now be appearing for sale world-wide through this website.
You can browse the record list in the Records Category.
Please note: We offer a wide variety of record albums from all genres and periods for sale at the store itself. This website will only list especially interesting albums.

This allows you to browse for books from a specific subject in a specific language. This feature is available in both the Category Browser and the Language Browser sections of this website.

As promised, it is now possible to view a complete list of all the newest additions to our on-line catalogue (see just below this news-box).
It is also possible to view the new books in each individual category, and the scroller shows a random selection of 10 new books added in the last few days.

Both our search pages now offer users the ability to sort books by their title, author, or the date they were added to our catalogue. This allows users to view books added recently, or otherwise sort search results in an easy-to-view manner.
Coming soon: a list of all the newest additions to our catalogue, updated daily. Keep your eyes peeled!

No sooner said than done, our Advanced Search page has now been completely redone as well. The Advanced Search engine now accepts true keyword combinations, and also allows for three different degrees of search strictness.
(Also note, some errors that have been occurring in regular search over the past 24 hours have been rectified. Happy book-hunting!)

Our Search feature has been completely refurbished, to make it suitable for the 21st century (Finally!). Instead of the old rigid search, our new search truly enables the user to look for keywords, as he or she would on web search engines. For now, only our regular search has been updated. An update for the Advanced Search feature will be implemented within the next few days.

Due to massively complicated reforms in the Israeli Postal Service shipping charges, we have updated our Shipping Costs page. It now allows customers to select a country and method of shipment, and receive an estimate on the price of shipping. Please note that, as book weights vary considerably, we can only give a final shipping quote after an order has been placed. We do not accept payment before confirming these costs with the customer, of course.

We have finally
integrated both our English and Hebrew catalogues. It is now possible to search for keywords in the Hebrew language without switching to our Hebrew site. Simply type in your search words in the search box (top left of the page), just as you would with English words.
Please note that as a side-effect, Hebrew books may appear as part of regular English searches. This happens mostly if a book is missing its English-language details, but has Hebrew details available.
