RARE monograph on the life and works of the renowned Jewish scholar Leon Modena [Yehudah Aryeh miModena] (1571-1648), written by Nehemiah Samuel Libowitz (1862-1939), a Russian Hebrew scholar of Judaism and Hebrew literature. 200x135mm. 131 pages. Quarter-cloth black rebound Hardcover. Hebrew title page creased, upper edge worn, bottom half of the page missing and replaced with white piece of paper. Small worm-mark on English title page and three first pages with damage to one letter of the introduction text. Small wormhole penetrating the first 64 pages - NO real damage to text on most pages, only one letter on few pages text is affected. Few pages age-stained. Pages yellowing. [SUMMARY]: This extremely rare study of an eminent Jewish thinker has sustained some damage, but is still in good reading condition.
