RARE richly illustrated album of works by Ernst Fuchs (b.1930), an influential Austrian painter, draftsman, printmaker, sculptor, architect, stage designer, composer, poet, singer and one of the founders of the Vienna School of Fantastic Realism. This book was designed and produced by Studio Draeger in collaboration with the artist, Ernst Fuchs, under the artistic direction of René Toutain, March 31, 1977. Contains an autobiographical sketch by the artist. 2.4kg. 310x280mm. 230 pages. Illustrated embossed gilt Hardcover. Gilt lettering spine. Cover and spine stained. Cover corners, spine edges and pages bottom corner bumped. Cover gilt partly faded, spine gilt faded. Cover bottom corners and spine bottom edge peeling. Front cover edges slightly peeling. Spine front hinge partly peeling. Inner cover worn between endpapers. Upper corner between pages 152-153 worn. Page corners near binding bumped. Text block edges dirty and slightly worn. [SUMMARY]: This extremely rare deluxe edition of works by an eminent modern Austrian artist has sustained some wear, but is otherwise in good condition.
