A catalogue of the exhibition of Marc Chagall`s work from the first half of the 20th century, which was organized by the Association of Israeli Museums. The booklet includes 22 b&w reproductions of Chagall`s work. The book is signed 5 times under the name "Marc Chagall", in both Hebrew and Latin characters, along with the words "Israel, 1951" (the year of publication). This raises the suspicion that someone had been using this book to practice forgery of Chagall`s autograph. However, since the autographs are very similar to Chagall`s own, it is also quite possible that these are 5 original signatures indeed. The book contains a preface and text by M. Narkiss, a short segment from Chagall himself congratulating Israel for its three years of existence, a preface by Lionelo Venturi, a chronology of Chagall`s life, and an index for the prints appearing in the book.
