RARE TWO BOOKS BOUND TOGETHER. `HaTekufah HaGedolah` (The Great Era) is a treatise explaining the meaning of our times according to Judaism, written by Menachem Mendel Kasher (1895-1983) - an influential Polish-born Israeli rabbi and prolific author known for his encyclopedic work on the Torah entitled Torah Sheleimah. "Kol HaTor" is an esoteric text that describes the 999 footsteps of the Messiah`s arrival, written by Hillel Rivlin of Shklov (1758-1838), a close disciple of the Vilna Gaon, who, along with some of Gaon`s other pupils is credited with having revitalized the Ashkenazi community in what is now Israel (then the Ottoman province of Palestine), by immigrating to Jerusalem in 1809. 245x170mm. 606 pages. Green cloth Hardcover with gilt lettering on front cover and spine. Cover curved. Cover corners and edges, and spine edges bumped. Cover and spine stained. Spine faded/yellowing. Text block edges slightly stained and yellowing. Binding loose and visible between inner cover and whitepages. Front inner cover and whitepage water-stained. Small pen inscriptions on front whitepage upper corners/edge. Pages slightly yellowing. [SUMMARY]: This extremely rare book, a classic treatise in 20th-century orthodox Judaism, is otherwise in good condition.
